MISSION |
To
serve the Gospel call to justice in word and deed, to learn about
and promote Church social teaching, to offer a service alternative
to the traditional campus “spring break”. |
| |
|
DESCRIPTION |
Miami
students spend their college spring break week volunteering in the
"hollers" of West Virginia. The week is composed of a
manual labor service effort in both discussion and reflection about
social justice, and exposure to racial, economic, and cultural differences.
|

|
|
|
Participants
must apply and be selected for a limited number of volunteer team
openings. Upon acceptance, participants attend weekly preparatory
meetings to explore church social justice teaching as well as the
area and people to be visited. Participants need one free week during
spring break as well as be willing to participate in several fundraisers.

MISSION |

setting, to learn about and promote Church social teaching, to ministers
to as well as be a guests of, another nations and cultures. |

DESCRIPTION |
Miami
students spend ten days in May volunteering General Cepeda, Mexico. The trip is composed of manual labor activities, discussion
and reflection on social justice and service, and international
exposure to the economic and cultural setting of a particular people.
|

|
Participants
must apply and be selected for a limited number of volunteer team
openings. Upon acceptance, participants attend weekly preparatory
meetings to explore church social justice teaching as well as the
area and people to be visited. Participants need two free weeks
immediately following spring finals in May as well as be willing
to participate in pre-trip fundraisers.
